I hope you had the best Thanksgiving weekend. Ours was relaxing! We decided to start a new family tradition of making Christmas cookies on Thanksgiving evening. Let’s just say they tasted really good! We definitely could use some work on our style!
I absolutely love this time of year. I love Jesus, who is after all the reason for the season. I also love traditions, holiday decorations, the smell of Christmas trees, and thinking of ways to make someone’s day brighter. This time of year can also be stressful, so today I’m sharing three ways to take care of you without breaking the bank!
Missing your summer tan? I certainly was but didn’t want to pay to get a spray tan. For some reason, I feel more confident when I have a little sun-kissed glow. I have used St. Tropez in Shower Lotion before and absolutely love it. It gradually gives your skin a hint of natural looking color. The downside is standing for 3 minutes in the shower before rinsing it off. Two weeks ago I ran out and decided to give the Mousse Starter Kit a shot. It is only $25 and comes with an exfoliator to use prior to tanning, a mitt to apply the mouse which allows for even application and no mishaps on your hands, and an after tan lotion to prolong the length of your tan. It isn’t as beautiful as a real tan, but it works for me in the winter! This little set also makes a nice gift.
Up your lip and eye game with this 3 for a little more than the price of 1 gift set. If I had to choose what makeup makes me feel the best in the winter months, I would have to say something that brightens my lips and eyes. These three products are doing the trick! I have linked it to the only store that it is not yet sold out in! If you are interested in buying this set as a gift for yourself or someone special on your list I wouldn’t wait.
Lips: (Mini) Rouge Volupte Shine in #49 This lipstick is my hands down new favorite for winter! It feels like luxurious chap-stick and is the perfect shade of pink for winter. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized all day long! I also love it in the red shade #45.
Eyeliner: Effet Faux Cils’ Bold Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen (Black) is so easy to apply. It is a liquid pen and it’s thickness can be changed depending on the angle at which you hold it. It’s so easy, I just might start wearing eyeliner everyday!
Mascara: Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Black) makes your lashes look thick and voluminous. I would say it almost looks like I’m wearing fake lashes with it on. I was skeptical before trying it because I love my drugstore brand, however I can say that this will be my new mascara.
3. DIY Cure Dry Winter Hands
I feel the effects of dry hands more in the winter not only because it is colder and drier outside, but also because I wash my hands so many times during the school day. I was so excited when I learned this DIY trick to soothe chapped hands!
Directions: Mix 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 1 tbsp. of honey in a bowl and heat in the microwave for 5-10 seconds. Soak your hands in the warm mixture for 5 minutes then rinse and apply your favorite moisturizer!
