Short and Sweet Sunday Roundup

This week I actually started thinking about Christmas.  I know it sounds crazy as it is currently in the mid 80s outside here in Austin and it’s only the beginning of November, but in my experience, planning ahead and buying a little at a time makes it easier to budget.  Taylor came home for her birthday this weekend and we will be taking photos for our Christmas card today.  I’ll share a sneak peak and links to outfit ideas in a future post.

Product Reviews

Each month I receive products to try and share with you from Statusphere.  All opinions are my own.

1. Rootie the Rootlifter by Voloom

Rootie is a volumizing iron designed to give your hair instant lift and lasting volume.  It does this by creating natural looking texture (think: crimping, only at the roots) in the under layers of your hair lifting the top layers of your hair up and away from your scalp.  Just use as a last step after styling your hair.

This is one of those styling tools that makes you think, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” It is basically a redesigned crimping iron that is an easy and fast way to get lasting volume.  I wanted to get my hair stylists opinion so I used it one morning before work when I knew that I was going to the salon in the afternoon.  My hair held volume all day and she was impressed with how it worked.

2. Shaklee Youth Skin Care Set

The skin care set I received came with three products: Youth Activating BB Cream, Youth Activating Serum, and Youth Radience C + E.  I loved all of the products but the BB Cream was my favorite.  It comes in 4 shades and I used #3 (medium).  This was my first time to use BB Cream and it does it all: evens, corrects, hydrates, nourishes, and protects.

3. Occasion Station

Occasion Station is not your typical subscription service. Powered by real personal shoppers and managed with technology, Occasion Station provides you with a gift-shopping portal to not only remind you of special occasions coming up, but allows you to subscribe to a personal shopping service for each occasion so you’re guaranteed to deliver a smile every time. Never forget a special occasion for someone you love again.

My personal shopper nailed it!  I received this adorable Cultivate Kindness wooden sign which now is displayed in my classroom and a bath set in Peony (my favorite flowers).  The bath set had so many products in sizes that are convenient for travel.  My gift came with a card, gift receipt, and a blank thank you note in a pre-addressed and stamped envelope.

Through the month of November, Occasion Station is offering free accounts on their website AND 40% off their personal shopper program with coupon code GIFT.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!  It may be darker waking up but enjoy your extra hour while it still feels like one.

Keeping It Short & Sweet,

Kelli
