When I first started the Ketogenic Diet I followed strict restrictions until I reached my goal weight (Phase 1) and then started adding almond milk, oatmeal, and some bread/carbohydrates. Any sauce or dressing contained no calories.
A typical day on Phase 1:
Protein Shake or 2 Poached Eggs
Protein Shake & cucumber slices
1 cup of vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, or squash) and 4 ounces of lean meat (chicken or fish)
4 ounces of lean meat & 1 cup vegetables (okra, zucchini, squash, cauliflower, or broccoli)
A typical day on Phase 1 is a total calorie intake of 650-700 calories. During this Phase, aerobic excercise is not recommended.
A Typical Day Now:
Oatmeal with Texas Honey (supposed to help with allergies)
Protein Shake & Fruit or 1/2 or a whole wheat deli flat & turkey with mustard
4 ounces of lean meat with vegetables
I typically eat approximately 1,000 calories a day now.
